A Night of Horrors: A Historical Thriller about the… de John C Berry
Amazon wouldn’t let me give this the half-star. I thought this was okay. The backstory, especially of John Wilkes Booth, could have been fleshed out more than it was. Also, there was a grating inconsistency in the shortening of the assassin’s name: sometimes Booth, sometimes Wilkes Booth. I also found a few other instances of sus editing, like the prison ship being called Montauk and Mantauk within a few paragraphs. The worst one, earlier on in the novel, re Booth: “He rubbed his finger over his chin and realized that his stubble was much heavier than he had realized.”… (més)
