Have you ever suffered from fear, and wondered if there has to be more you are meant to do? Have you ever wondered who God has called you to be? If so, you should definitely check out this book for yourself.

The personal stories make the book become real and meaningful in a personal way. Gal Porter does an incredible job of illustrating how to be set free from the bondage of fear. As someone who moved around constantly while growing up, fear of rejection was something I lived with daily. My older sister was the type of person who quickly and easily made friends, but it was difficult for me to make friends easily. So I could relate to this book in some ways.

Gail Porter demonstrates how it is possible to conquer fear and rejection and come out on the other side as the person God planned on you being. So check out this book for yourself.

I definitely recommend reading it. I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review.

The first thing that popped out to me as I began the book was when the author tried to remember where she and her family sat at the dinner table as she grew up. I had this same conversation with my brother last year. Neither of us could ever remember sitting at the dinner table together or even where we ate dinner at. I’m not surprised that I don’t remember since there was no love in our family. I came from a violent and abusive childhood and never once did I hear the words, “I love you,” from my parents.
I could relate to the author as she was raised in a home where love was not shown. Much like the author, I was glad when I was at school or at a friends house. I never wanted to go home and dreaded the moment I stepped in my house. Rejection is such a hard thing to overcome. It wraps its hold on you and continues to whisper lies to keep you isolated and abandoned. What I liked about the author was how open she is about her life and brings truth to the lies that the enemy uses to discourage us. “We don’t need to try to earn God's acceptance. God’s love is unconditional.”
The author uses many scriptures to encourage us and remind us that God loves us. She shares stories that are easy to relate to and it helps to hear how they overcame obstacles that pulled them away from God. Fear, rejection, abandonment, unloved and other topics make this book one that I found helpful. Included at the end of each chapter are questions for readers to do. Throughout the book I found the author sharing love and how to overcome the things that have kept us from being trusting and showing unconditional love to others.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

I am quite sure everyone has experienced rejection in life, even if it was only that job you wanted and didn’t get. The author tells her story of how rejection shaped her early in life which then affected her for many years. She has many encouraging suggestions for each of us to grow into the real person we are meant to be. Removing your mask and leaving that imposter syndrome behind will help us rise above that fear of rejection and into a life of personal freedom. Only as we realize that our true identity and strength are in the Lord will the real person shine through. His plans and dreams for us are ever so much better than we can even imagine. God isn’t looking for perfection, He just wants us to experience the race.

This copy was received through Redemption Press and CelebrateLit. The impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.
