That said, this book was poorly written. It was like Adler just talked and what he said was recorded and written down exactly in order of how he said it. There were some stories that had no point. Some stories that started at one place and finished after a few tangents finally finished the story. Some of his stories were just hard to believe. They may have happened, but something tells me some were exaggerated. Most of the titles of his chapters or sections had nothing to do with what he wrote. I have Duff's book; I really hope that one is much better. ( ) My Appetite for Destruction:Sex, Drugs and Guns N Rose's🍒🍒🍒🍒 By Steven Adler 2010 Born Micheal Coletti in Cleveland Ohio, in 1965, Steven Adler is best known as the drummer for Guns N Rose's until they fired him for his heroin addiction. ( but they were all addicts....cocaine, heroin, alcohol) His abuses of sex and drugs, his attitudes of entitlement, his partying life are put on paper here, with humor and enthusiasm. The title says it all...no surprises here.... He was on Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew and in 2012 inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Guns n Rose's. A predictable but fun look at his life as a rock star, and the shenanigans they pulled.... Recommended. 2 and a half stars....clearly Adler did very little writing of this book. The name drops sounded phony, the sex stories sounded phony, the family stories were interesting in that I hadn't heard them before, the G 'n R stories sounded like "Waaaaa, feel bad for me, the guys screwed me and I didn't even do anything wrong" and everything he was ever blamed for, he either didn't do or wasn't really his fault. I find the guy watchable in interviews on TV and all, Appetite for Destruction was a great record, but this book wasn't too good. Well if there were any questions as to whether Adler was a buffoon o not, this book puts that debate to rest. That said, this is a book with everything a rock and roll bio should have. Tales of excess with redemption in the end. Adler leads us on his remarkable journey in a remarkably honest fashion. It's hard to feel sympathy for a man who had it all, did everything he could to throw it away, yet still retains something. still at the end of it all he comes off as pretty likable fellow. Fun read, now off to the Mustaine bio. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
From Steven Adler, the original drummer for Guns N' Roses, comes My Appetite for Destruction, the inside story of GNR. Offering a different perspective from the bestselling Slash, Adler chronicles his life with the band, and own intense struggle with addiction, as seen on Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab and Sober House.
