This book goes relatively deep into the different types of beetles. There are tons of pictures, but also a lot of text. I think that it is a really good balance between the two. This book would not be very useful as a read aloud as it is doesn't really tell much of a story and can kind of feel choppy. However, this book would be a great resource for students who are looking for or needing more information about beetles or the different types of beetles.

Book with a lot of information regarding beetles: varieties, colors, body parts, adaptions, life cycle... Great illustrations show detail.
Classroom: This book has a ton of information on various beetles. I think a scavenger hunt would be a fun idea. Have students take pictures of different insects they see outside, identify if they are beetle and what type they think they could be. Chart and categorize the beetles (including pictures) to display in classroom.
