As usual, I loved this issue of the comic and can't wait to keep reading more. I liked the small funeral that they had for Amy, and the nice things everyone said about her. It shows that they have not turned into savages yet. I also like that we learned a little more about Dale and his wife, though his story of how his wife had turned at that other camp, was quite sad. When Donna and Jim were talking and Dale's wife was mentioned, they said his wife turned with within a day (I think?) and I think some people turn within hours. So apparently there is no set amount of time after a person gets bitten, that they turn. Could be hours, could be a day or two. "Let's wait. The government is coming, they will rescue us. Blah, blah, blah." What a load of baloney. They are not going to be rescued, even I know that. Otherwise, what was the use of even titling the series 'The Walking Dead', if things are gonna be patched up within a few issues? When Jim asked the group to leave him behind, it was sad. I had expected instead for him to ask them to put him out of his misery and just take him out with a headshot, but that did not happen. When Shane and Rick were fighting, I kept hoping that Rick would kill Shane and just put him (Shane) and me out of our misery. All I keep getting from Shane is the same crap over and over again. Lori's crying does nothing for me. I do not feel sorry for her, I just feel annoyed that she is crying so much like a child. I kind of want someone to tell her to knock it off, that crying is not going to change or solve anything. The part where Shane blamed Rick for everything because he woke up from his coma, is a load of crap. Shane needs to get the hell over himself and get a damn grip. Yes, he's probably in love with Lori, but he had to know there was a small chance Rick might wake up and come for his family. My favorite part of this issue was when Carl shot and killed Shane. Although I would never wish that kind of thing on any child, I am still extremely glad Carl killed him. I was worried that Shane would kill Rick. I love the end of the issue where Carl says, "It's not the same as killing the dead ones, Daddy." And Rick says, "It never should be, son. It never should be." That speaks to me as a reader and definitely confirms my earlier comment that they have not turned into savages who kill because they want to and not because they need to. I can't seem to control myself on reading this comics series because I didn't expect that the hype for this story is indeed reasonable. ( )
