This is an amazing, wordless picture book about a young girl who uses a magical red crayon to go on an adventure. Just love the beautiful colors and the creative ideas. This is a well-deserved Caldecott award winner and is perfect for fans of Shaun Tan and Chris Van Allsburg. It's great for kids with an imagination, and besides a mild incident of "peril", it's fine for preschool to elementary ages. This book follows the life of a girl living in a city. She finds a red marker and draws a door to another world. There, she follows a mysterious purple bird that gets captured. The girl rescues the bird bat gets captured herself. The purple bird saves her and they play. The bird then leads her to a door and she meets a little boy with the purple crayon from the title page and they become friends. This book could be good for 1st through 3rd grade to talk about writing plot and foreshadowing. This is a phenomenal wordless book. It had beautiful illustrations and great use of color. There can be so many questions to stop and consider what is going on. There can be great inferences made and discussed... students can read the book, think about what is going on, talk about inferences, and write sentences about what is going on. I would use this book for 1st or 2nd grade, maybe even third grade as an introduction to inferences and as a writing project. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
