Obviously a very important aspect of our American history, this book briefly touches on our first United States President. I did in fact learn some things about the early life of George Washington. The text of this book is informative and is accompanied by bright, simple illustrations. I had mixed feelings about this book after reading it. I used this in my lesson for President's Day. One reason that I liked the book was that the writing was organized. It was written in very simple sentences for the youngest of readers to comprehend. For example, the book only has one or two sentences per page in large print. This makes it easier for the students to follow. One reason I did not like the book was the book was not engaging. The entire book was set up the same way, one or two sentences about Washington's life and a picture. The book flowed with no real climax or interesting fact about Washington. I also did not like the illustrations. The pictures looked like cartoon art, but as if it were a political cartoon. My students did not seem to particularly enjoy the book either. The big idea of the story is to inform about George Washington's life. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
