But where are those sloths - snoring away, can't be bothered to join the contingent of 2 x 2. Suspensful, larky, and one of this yea's most winsome offerings. Too tired is a made up story of Noah's ark. As the flood is coming and all the animals are boarding Noah realizes they are missing the sloths. The sloths being unaware and lazy are too tired and asleep in the tree. Eventually all the animals aboard the ark (minus the cats) helps retrieve the sloths and complete Noah's list. Like many stories containing animals the author takes the opportunity to introduce many new adjectives, verbs, and vocab to students. In this particular book many words such as screeched, bleated, trumpeted, and howled are introduced to the student's vocabulary. This also makes students use context clues and prior knowledge to understand new words. Noah is checking off his animals on the ark. He realizes the sloths are missing and the ark turns around for the sloths. They are too tired and are sleeping, until the water reaches high to them. All the animals reach out and causes the ark to tip over. The sloths hop onto to the ark, and sleep right away. I am not very religious, but I think this book would be perfect for teaching the story of Noah's Ark. This could be seen in a parochial school. I thought it was sweet how all the animals united to get the sloths on to the ark. If a teacher wants to teach children about unity and friendship, this book would be perfect! When Noah is loading the Ark, he is almost forced to leave the sloths behind because they are too tired to come on board. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
