The girl was able to overcome the way the men treated her, and she definitely showed them she could do it. ( ) Alta was always great at throwing a baseball and grew up being a pitcher, striking out all of the boys in town. She joins a semipro team and pitches in her first game. They win the game and many more, and she is the new star pitcher. She then retires and is a doctor, but she spreads her story with another little girl that she sees. Summary: This story is about a girl named Alta Weissin the early 1900s, she loves playing baseball when she was a little girl. When she grew up, every told her should give up playing baseball because she is a girl and people told her--girls can't play baseball. However, she insisted her dream and convinced the coach to give her a chance. At the end, she has a big success and be called "Girl Wonder".
