Part of my job at the library is to find books the children's librarian can read during story hour. This coming story hour is a dog theme, so dog-themed books were read a plenty. Bob Graham's book is cute. It's probably a great book for children who happen to like dogs. I, however, am not a child and I do not like dogs (go ahead, judge me for it). If this were any other day, I would've just tossed this book aside and given it a one-star review. But bias shouldn't overwhelm the potential this book has to offer. I liked it. A bit lengthy for story hour (yeah, I said it), but a good book nonetheless. However, I must ask, am I the only one who thought the parents were a lesbian couple? Not that there's anything wrong with it, but yeah. I surely couldn't be the only one who though this, right? ( ) I really enjoyed this book. I very much prefer adopting animals from a shelter than from a breeder. I love that this book emphasizes animal shelter adoptions, and shows that there are many animals of all sorts at the shelter. I think young children will also enjoy this story. I would read it to my elementary class. This is another Bob Graham book that I adore. Kate and her family are in search of the perfect dog after the loss of their beloved cat when they realize there are so many rescues to chose from. After the family decides to get a young pup named Dave, they can't stop thinking about the older dog named Rosey and decide to return to the animal rescue center to get Rosey as well. Dave was the perfect pup for the end of Kate's bed but Rosey made Kate's bed even more comfortable and was a perfect addition as well to the family. Bob Graham has done it once again by capturing our hearts and touching us with his fun-loving story about Rosey and Dave. I think we all have felt like Kate's mom and wish we could take all the rescues. It is really difficult to choose just one! I find these sweet Bob Graham books to be therapeutic after the loss of my dog in August. The girl in this story is missing her dog that passed away last year. Her bed is lonely and she wants a pup. So her parents bring her to the animal shelter to look for a small dog. However, when they get there they also see a big dog that they fall in love with. The family takes the small dog home and the next day they go back to get the big dog. The little girl, the dad, and the mom are so happy and once again their family is complete. The little is no longer lonely in her bed with her two dogs sleeping with her at night. I love dogs so inevitably I fell in love with this story. Most children do you like animals so I think this book would be great to read to kids. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

When Kate and her parents visit the animal shelter, an adorable puppy charms them, but it is very hard to leave an older dog behind. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
