A beautiful story, tho probably most appreciated by an introspective person, featuring a 13 year old girl living on a ranch in Wyoming. As the title implies, she features a month in each chapter, opening with a page of observations about what happens each month (weather, birds, plants, animals). Then the chapter is somewhat of a diary, detailing what is happening in her life during this particular year as she becomes more aware of what she is afraid of losing while her family is struggling to meet bank payments. She has to work hard to help, but still has time to be with friends.
I notice many readers mark this as Historical Fiction. While there is a timeless quality to country life, Timmy does use her computer to look for help for her family. ( )
