The big eye opener in this book for me was when Sally told a group of deaf students that she would rather be blind than deaf, because she enjoyed hearing the little pieces of the world around her and didn't need to see it all to know it was there.
I'm not exactly sure how students would react to this book, but in some sense I think they would enjoy it because it's questions that they probably have being answered. ( )
