1209. King George III, by John Brooke (25 Mar 1973) This is an excellent biography, and shows George III in the best possible light. I had often wondered how anyone could defend the British in regard to events before the Revolution. This book does it very well: the colonists were determined not to recognize the principle that Parliament could legislate for them. It is as simple as that. A most worthwhile book. (
