It’s 1863 and the Civil War had drained the U.S. Army posts on the frontier of able-bodied fighting men. Fort Laramie was no exception. It was managed by turn-coat secessionists, draft dodgers, wounded men, and the rabble of the frontier. After all, how much protection could a wagon train expect from two Rebs, a drunken mountain man, an Austrian deserter and a Cajun horse thief? The fort sent a nine-man patrol to fight off 300 bloodthirsty Indians. Now the locals – and the Indians – were about to find out just how resourceful nine misfits could be.
