A misunderstanding, an overbearing family, and two people who want to belong are at the center of Her Temporary Cowboy by Tanya Agler. I'd compare this fake engagement tale to a western While You Were Sleeping (complete with the memorable family).

I was a fan of both Lucky and Liz from the opening pages of this book. Even when they were driving me crazy by not being open and honest with each other, I was rooting for them. A date for a wedding becomes much more when a misunderstanding moves Liz and Lucky into the engaged category. And from there Lucky and Liz lose all control of the truth.

But the relationship isn’t the only challenge these two have to contend with. Neither wants to the other to think they are using them. And while Liz’s feet are firmly planted on her family’s ranch, Lucky’s home is on wheels so he can move on to the next spot as soon as possible.

Throughout the book, Agler blows on those romance embers until they turn into a wildfire the main characters can’t stop. And the supporting characters—all of Liz’s family and Lucky’s best friends—add a depth to this story that hooked me from the start.

I had my review written and it was ready to go ... But my page was reloaded, oh horror of horrors it was gone when the page reloaded ... Which means I have to start over.

It took me a little time to get into "A Ranger for the Twins" by Tanya Agler, but around the fiftieth page I was pulled into the plot and my interest was held until the end. I found the story to be sweet, warm, and satisfyingly healing for both the hurting Lucie and Caleb. The twins were absolutely adorable and I really loved getting to see all of the characters changing and growing throughout the story.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I’ve read all of Tanya Agler’s books and enjoyed meeting the people in this small Smoky Mountain community in North Carolina. I’m also a huge fan of friends to more romances, so The Paramedic’s Forever Family seemed like it would be the perfect bouquet of things I love to read in a book—there are also kids, a dog, and a somewhat meddling grandfather.

This book started out well with Mason and Lindsay meeting up in the evenings to talk and share about their days. Then there are some complications thrown in there to keep life interesting. But too much of this book is spent with both Mason and Lindsay stuck in the same place they start at.

Mason doesn’t commit, and even though he thinks Lindsay is different, he’s so set in his no-commitment mindset that he doesn’t allow the friendship to blossom into something fuller until much too late. The same with Lindsay. And that made it hard for the book to hold my interest. It took me almost three times as long to get through it because I would set it down to do something else before coming back to it the following day.

I did enjoy catching up with some of the characters from previous books and Agler gives us just the tiniest hint of what might be coming next. But overall, this particular book lacked the charm of the previous books.
