Sobre l'autor

The American Medical Association is the physician's powerful ally in patient care. Our efforts focus on four critical areas: representing physicians with a unified voice, removing obstacles that interfere with patient care, leading the charge in confronting public health crises, and driving the mostra'n més future of medicine. For more than 50 years, the AMA has used its knowledge and resources to produce products and services for the health care industry that generate business efficiencies and empower physicians to provide high-quality care. The AMA product line includes titles on CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding; reimbursement; practice management; impairment; and HIPAA and electronic health records. This was my first diabetic cookbook, which I bought a couple weeks after my diagnosis. I was scared, and also worried that life would have no more flavor. This book helped convince me I was wrong, with stupendous recipes that have actually led me to a new appreciation for food.

American Medical Association

At some time, most families will need to provide home care for an aging family member who is ill or disabled. While home caregiving provides many benefits, it takes careful planning, support, and patience.
The American Medical Association Guide to Home Caregiving provides the information you need to take the best possible care of an elderly, ill, or disabled person in a home setting. Written by experts from the American Medical Association, the book explains such essentials as how to:
• Plan and arrange a room to adapt to a loved one’s needs
• Give medications, maintain hygiene, monitor symptoms, deal with incontinence, provide emotional support, and relieve boredom
• Choose a home healthcare provider
• Pay for home healthcare, including information about Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care insurance
• Care for a person with Alzheimer’s disease or a terminal illness
• Choose between alternative living arrangements such as assisted living facilities or nursing homes
• Take care of yourself, the caregiver
