Biografia breu: Magaret S. Banister was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, and graduated from Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA. In the 1920s, she moved to Washington, D.C. to write for The Washingtonian magazine. During World War II, she served as an information specialist in the War Department, and stayed on to work in public relations for the Pentagon for 15 years. She wrote several short stories and two historical novels, Tears Are For the Living (1963) and Burn Then, Little Lamp (1966).
