Author Derrick Barnes discusses his series of children’s books, Ruby & the Booker Boys, on Friday, July 11, at 7 p.m. in the Truman Forum at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. The first two books in the series – Brand New School, Brave New Ruby and Trivia Queen, Third Grade Supreme – are both scheduled for release on July 1.
Ruby & The Booker Boys follows the adventures of Ruby Booker, an intelligent, talented, sassy and super stylish 8-year-old African American girl who will do anything to climb out of the shadows of her three popular big brothers. (GHTC-KC)… (més)
