I loved the art style. The first page is so beautiful with it's soft blue tones - the buttons, feathers, sea shells and bells are look so sweet. The art work continues this way, but is much more colourful yet still a very soft and friendly style.

Then comes the actual story - it's a lot wordier than a lot of children's books I've read, but that's a good thing! It is still simple, but has more sentences to read. I could see this being for readers 3-6 years old, with a parent for the younger end of the age group. The sentences are very descriptive and could be used as an excellent reading tool.

The message of the story was very wise - doing one thing at a time can make a big job much easier. The funny ending about the Father being similar made it quite silly (and adorable!). I think adults who read this story will really like that ending, because it's true that often kids get some of those habits from their parents.

At the end, there's also tips from other parents about how they help keep their children's rooms organized. I thought that was rather smart!

Overall, this was a cute and fun book with a good lesson! It's worthwhile to read to your children, students and reading buddies!

Four out of five stars.

Cami and Wyatt try to be friends with Violet and Chester, new kids who recently moved in. They don't seem to want to be friends. When the discuss it with their parents, they are advised to keep trying. When their parents learn of the Koala family's recent circumstances, they let Cami and Wyatt know and the two kids decide to show Violet and Chester that they can still be friends even when things change.

I enjoyed this story. I loved how the parents did not hide things from their children and how the children were able to look beyond the Koala family's circumstances and show Violet and Chester friendship. They began new traditions and were compassionate. This is definitely a story we need now. I loved the illustrations. They brought the story to life. I look forward to reading more of Cami and Wyatt and, hopefully, their new friends, Violet and Chester.… (més)

This story written by Stacey Bauer is the perfect picture book for any parent, teacher, or librarian to read to a child during remote learning! Two kangaroos, Cami and Wyatt got new tablets and are spending way too much time on screen instead of playing outside, fishing with dad, and baking cookies with mom. The story reminds kids to balance technology with non screen activities and the joy of being unplugged!

Cami Kangaroo Has Too Many Sweets by Stacy C. Bauer
Colorful children's story, sometimes hard to read the dark letters on a dark background. Lettering is also very small.
Parents have to talk to Cami because she is sneaking treats and they try to explain to her why she shouldn't be doing that....
She tries different things to make her think of other things. Love the gift the dentist gives her...
About the authors is included at the end.
