This is the second book in the Benji Franklin: Kid Zillionaire series. In this book Benji, a child genious, has two problems to solve. Benji, working with Sir Robert and all the gadgets he has supplied him with, has to solve the problems of an island that is suddenly experiencing earthquakes and blackouts as well as the problem of a business that has all their profits disappear by money transfers. Of course, Benji's mother still wants him in school completing all his work and assignments and he is still dealing with his nemesis Cindy. When Benji is told he must work on the last assignment at school, he recruits Cindy and the student body to help him. He solves both problems quickly and at great expense and gets well paid in the process. Children from 7 to 11 will enjoy this book as it shows a young child solving the problems of adults and the world.

I´m 22 and I just finished reading this. I picked it up because I thought it would be an entertaining way to get my boyfriend and his siblings, who are native speakers of Spanish, into reading in English. Also, the boyfriend is still ashamed if he accidentally slips one out. This book will be so ¨in your face¨ that perhaps he´ll be able to lighten up a bit like stinky old me. Lol, lighten up.

I have to admit, I was also curious if there really could be an entertaining book with a good plot on the subject of farts. One of the first things I thought was, ¨How can somebody write an entire book with farts as the main focus?¨ Well it turns out the author wrote three and this first one did indeed entertain me.

There is indeed a plot! :) And after reading it I see why kids would like it a lot and why some adults do too (I read all kinds of books and don´t limit myself to reading just novels meant for adults).

I did spend HOURS writing translations for certain expressions and words though. I´m much better at translating into my native language of course, not from it. I hope the effort was worth it and that at least one person at the intermediate or advanced learning stage of English can enjoy it.… (més)
