What this book lacks in organization, it makes up for in including any little bits of salvaged culture the author happened to come across. It includes songs, phonetic translations, and references. It is a hodge-podge of information and is not highly organized, neither by dates, subject, nor tribal information. It is a starting point and of interest in that someone was able to put it down on paper before it was forgotten.. Being written by a state education department in 1906 (reprinted in the 1970s) by someone with no credentials that I can find except his research sources ("Authorities"), most of whom are not Native American, there is room to question the accuracy of this work. That being said, we will take whatever pieces of history we can find and celebrate having this short document available for us to read.… (més)
