Roxane Beaufort

Roxane Beaufort is an entertaining writer of erotic fiction which as a disciplinary flavour, and this book is well up to her high standards. It concerns a country girl who falls upon hard times and is ill used by a number of moneyed gentlemen. During her painful travails she falls in love with a young man whose father separates them, thereby returning her to her more familiar penniless condition. Eventually, she encounters a kindly old protector, and her fortunes dramatically improve, although she still yearns to satisfy her acquired taste for (sometimes rather cruel) chastisement. The scenes involving implements of correction are treated relatively lightly, and add a credible frisson to the narrative. There are elements of the story that echo other works of erotic fiction, notably ‘Fanny Hill’, but such derivations do not detract too seriously from the value of the book as a whole.… (més)

This is an entertaining novel about a late Victorian rake and his dominant relationship with a young lady who expects to marry him once she inherits her fortune. When her fortune evaporates, however, only his desire to dominate persists, and the story concerns the problems she has avoiding him as she becomes increasingly submissive. The book’s portrayal of the seamy and musical sides of Victorian life in London is excellent, and the scenes in which the interactions between the couple reach their steamy heights are difficult to beat; something that cannot be said about the young lady’s lower person. This region has a delightful habit of becoming unclothed. This may be recommended for readers of erotic chastisement fiction who enjoy a good, well-researched, credible plot.… (més)

Roxane Beaufort is an expert in the M/F erotic flagellation genre. She writes in an easy style, with credible plots and characters, and her descriptions of these characters as they progress through various ‘no-holes-barred’ activities are both direct and highly stimulation. Submission mostly involves powerful males applying rods and straps to the usual plump regions of their victims. This is usually as a warm-up to more usual activity. This book is a fine example of her craft. It concerns the conversion of a hapless orphan girl to a libidinous hedonist, progressing from a disciplined clerical household to be companion to the frustrated sister of a highly active dominant member of the peerage. Her conventional virginity lasts surprisingly long, taken eventually by a man of her choice, even if this man proves soon to be wilder in his tastes than she’d first thought. Time spent at an unconventional ‘health farm’, where the staff have definitely ulterior motives, figures prominently. Much of the interest involves the minor characters, including the peer’s sister’s maid. An excellent addition to the genre.… (més)
