Illustrator Hans de Beer was born in 1957 in Muiden, the Netherlands. He works as a freelance illustrator for books and children's magazines. He is also the author of the Little Polar Bear series. His books have been published in numerous languages. (Bowker Author Biography)

Little Polar Bear, Take Me Home! de Hans de Beer

Lars can make friends anywhere. His new friend is Sasha the tiger who just wants to see the ocean. But as usual for Lars he got a little lost. But new friends along the way will help Sasha find home and Lars make it back to his dad. Love these books! I love the heart. I love the sentiment. I love the illustration. They just work.

De kleine ijsbeer en de bange haas de Hans de Beer

Dit boek gaat over een kleine ijsbeer (Lars) die een bange haas (Hugo) uit een kuil red. Ze worden dikke vrienden, maar Lars komt vast te zitten in een poolstation. Hugo gaat proberen de ijsbeer te reden.
Het boek is heel fantasierijk en erg leuk beschreven. Er wordt zo laten zien dat je niet altijd bang hoeft te zijn, maar het wel is mag zijn. Ook wordt laten zien dat je niet hetzelfde hoeft te zijn om vrienden te worden.

Little Polar Bear and the Pandas de Hans de Beer

This is my first introduction to these children's books by this author. After reading this book, I know that I want to pick up more for my niece and I to read together. It was so cute and did have a good lesson that friends can be made anywhere. No matter how different everyone is.

Lars goes on a grand adventure when he accidentally leaves behind his home in the Artic. On his way to make it home, he meets Mika and other mice, Ying and Yong, pandas, and Oleg, the otter. Lars even climbs the Great Wall.

The illustrations are lovely and really help make the story come alive. The sentences are not too long in length or are comprised are large words. I did notice that the paper used for the pages of this book were thicker in material. It is nice as it helps a bit more to not worry about easily ripping a page.… (més)
