Got this for free while browsing the Kindle titles because the plot looked interesting. The book is okay in terms of story, but seems implausible at some places, and the grammar is bad; may be the author had tried to write entirely in the street-language, I don't know...
It was a quick read, both due to its length and the story. The author can do better, I feel...

This is about how some people "live" Social Media sites. They base their lives on what others post and are concerned how their post will be perceived. So many people tell on themselves by what they post as their status and don't even realize it. I did enjoy the twist and turns. :)

James Skier aka "Skee" is living off his girlfriend, Ariana Houston. Ariana is the daughter of Joseph Houston, the owner of an automobile dealership. Skee is tired of living off Ariana and bumming rides from his friend Charles, so he comes up with an idea to make some money.

Skee has the idea that he can make it big in the drug business. But he is in for a rude awakening. He doesn't know who all of the players are in this game and the answer will surprise him and a few others. In the midst of all of this, Skee is trying to keep his secret from his mother and Ariana.

Jordan Belcher's "Blacktop Hustlaz" moves at a fairly fast pace with characters that had me shaking my head. The editing seemed to gradually decline in the latter part of the book. Also, some of the events that occur were really unrealistic and there wasn't one policeman in the whole book; thus a town without police.

Thin Ice

Levour ‘Tre Pound’ King, a local thug, is on trial for the murder of a well-known drug dealer. While he awaits the verdict, he continues to wreak havoc on those he comes in contact with. Camille, Tre’s 15-year-old cousin, hates the fact that it’s hard keeping a boyfriend once they learn Tre is family. Is Tre guilty or not guilty of murder? Will Tre make it out alive on the mean streets of Kansas City, Missouri, or will he spend the rest of his life behind bars?

After reading the synopsis, I was very excited to read this selection. The book started off with a bang, but there were some parts of this book where my attention waned for a bit. I had questions about Tre and Camille’s relationship. I know they were cousins but it seemed to be an underlying story between those two.

Overall, Jordan Belcher’s “Tre Pound” was an ok read for me, but I definitely wouldn’t mind reading another selection from this author.
