Kita Bell

Is one of the books i really enjoyed. I was scared along with Eva, was angry with the bad guys, and.. I just loved Brand’s character , with all the good and bad sides of him. A paranormal adventure full of action. Thankfully, not another copy of all these strange creatures’ stories that we all have read after Twilight. I also liked the fact that the author involves artfully love and its effect on the lives of heroes, from the very first page. However, I must say that it is quite impropriate for very young readers, due to its sexual content.

This is a paranormal romance novel about Kaspians – an immortal race of shape-shifting blood tigers. Eva, a young Kaspian, escapes from her kidnappers and is rescued by Brand Kade, a powerful, and secretive, Kaspian. Eva wants to go home to her sister, but she is convinced to return with Brand to his stronghold to help the Kaspians learn more about the kidnappers. What Eva doesn't know, is that Brand has recognized Eva as his destined mate and has no intention of letting her go.

The Kaspians are an interesting take on shape-shifters. The vampires in this novel are also an interesting and different variation than found in many paranormal romances. Brand is a suitably alpha hero. Eva, while traumatized, is not a helpless victim. I appreciate strong female characters. There were quite a few secondary characters who were very fully realized. I would enjoy reading future novels about a few of them, and this novel does appear to be the first of a series. My only complaint about the novel was that it used the fact the hero kept secrets from the heroine as the main source of conflict. Even though the novel gives a reason for Brand's secretiveness, I would have preferred the revelation earlier so the relationship between Brand and Eva could have developed without the "misunderstanding" trope.

Recommended for readers of paranormal romance. Some fairly explicit, but not excessive, sexual content, so not for younger readers.… (més)
