Historian Leslie Brown will discuss and sign copies of her recent book, Living with Jim Crow: African American Women and Memories of the Segregated South, and an earlier book, Upbuilding Black Durham: Gender, Class, and Black Community Development in the Jim Crow South (2008). Brown, who teaches at Williams College, was a research coordinator for the Duke Center for Documentary Studies project, Behind the Veil.
