Well there was some light reading on the bus! Every so often, I need to know where a comma goes when I'm writing. I think I break a lot of rules; however, I am trying. Yes, I read grammar books for fun.

This book is short and sweet. You can tell it was written in 2003. Many of the example sentences talk about Al-Qaida, terrorism, Bush, and Enron. That was a bit bizarre but it was, after all, put out by the AP.

I keep this book in my laptop case. Not an exhaustive reference but extremely handy.

This is more than news writing. It is for everyone who want to improve their basic grammar skills and writing style. For example, adjectives, metaphors, personification, paraphrasing, euphemism and the uses of the period are to the point. This is a no nonsense guide showing bad, better and best in grammar and writing. Self improvement, two thumbs up.

A reference book that is also a pleasure to read. Full of pithy and witty examples. Alas, I still don't know where to put my commas.
