This was a great bunch of stories!

Going to do a breakdown of each story with a few cryptic words without giving away spoilers.

Dust Devils: Mini tornado that comes alive and wrecks havoc in one home.

A Story of Amber: Amber that seems to love the feel of blood among other things.

Claimed: Tree roots show what they are really capable of doing besides keeping trees rooted.

The Rebirth: An egg that is very unique and very deadly.

Pile of Dirt: Dirt that comes alive.....(that is about all I can say without spoilers)

Dead Lines: Paintings that reflect death, but unknown to the artist. (I know - it is cryptic.)

The Commission: A ghost deal that goes wrong with a photographer.

Diagonal Dead: Doppelganger switch-a-roo! (Oh this one you got to read - freaky.)

Demon Alcohol: Alcohol induced hallucinations? Or something else?

A Sunset Companion: Seat belt safety is a must.....

Thoughts:

I really liked these short stories as they were all original and unique. I have read this author before in an anthology with some other authors, but this is the first time I have read anything by this author himself. Very impressed with how all the stories just played out and some of the stories were just fast paced as things were happening to keep me flipping my kindle pages. I have a few more books by this author simmering on my kindle and will be stepping back into his work soon. Giving this one four "cool and collected" stars!

After being pulled into it's darkness, The Shadow Fabric slowly enfolded me into its depths, and held me there! It's for those that aren't afraid of the dark and want to try and work out a puzzle. It keeps going, each time you think you have reached the crescendo, there is still more to come. A good read, good exceptional writing! Mark is not only a master of expressing a lot in short, succinct sentences, this was one of the 'cleanest' books I have ever read in terms of grammar & typos! Get in early, cuz this guy is going somewhere. I am looking forward to more 'stitches'.… (més)

What a gripping little tale! I really enjoyed reading this, it is intriguing and pulls you in as you try and work out why this strange repetitive event keeps happening to the main character, each time feeding you a little bit more until the end.

I wondered why the Witchblade was familiar, and then remembered it from Mark Cassell's The Shadow Fabric novel. Although this tale is from the same mythos, you don't have to have read the novel to enjoy it. The one thing you can be sure of, the Shadow Fabric is everywhere and will draw you in, no matter what form it takes. *cue maniacal laugh*

I recommend you give this a read.… (més)
