Dawn Clark has been able to se clouds of "auric colour" around people since the age of three, but she insists that we others, who haven't been so fortunate, still can learn to see and feel "dynamic energy fields".
We are provided with many simple exercises to see and sense energy, for example, scanning the energy of a quartz crystal and feeling and intuiting colour in a stone or crystal. However, I don't understand this latter exercise, since it suggests that there are colours within the stone that we can't see with the naked eye. And if the author is referring to colours seen on the outside of the stone, wouldn't we be distracted by seeing these colours, and not know whether or not we were imagining that we were sensing a colour and not just seeing it in the normal way?
There are exercises on sensing the aura of trees, and again perceiving colour. Here I have the same objection as before.
We are given information about the chakras, the usual seven plus the cosmic chakra and the higher self chakra.
There are exercises and advice about perceiving hyuman auras and sensing their colours. as well as visually perceiving human auras.
I admit I haven't spent much time with these exercises, so it's not surprising that I haven't achieved much success. One feature that I found unsatisfactory was that many of he exercises in the latter part of the book require the particiption of number of persons. They cannot be done by oneself alone or even by just two participants. You would need a whole group of persons.
Also, when drawing/colouring the human aura, you use the physical eyes, as far as I understand, and this means that in order not to fatigue your eyes and confuse your perceptions, the entire exercise should last no more than 3-5 minutes. Your initil scan of the person's form and immediate surrounding area should take no longer than 45-60 seconds.
I personally have learnt a method of drawing the aura by closing one's eyes and with the inner eyes focusing on one colour/coloured shape/line at a time. In this way one has time to perceive the whole aura and get the "full picture", as far as possible.
There is a chapter about psychometry, with which I have previously had success. Here we are advised that plastics and other man-made fabrics should not be used since they do not retain vibrations.
Finally, there is useful advice about how best to perceive guides and angels. These vibrate at such a high frequency that they are practically invisible or imperceptible to most.
I can't say that I got much out of the book, but then I didn't apply myself to practicing the exercises. I don't know if other books are available on this subject.… (més)
