This book is about a little boy who has a multi-racial family. They go to the zoo one day and he learns about all these animals. When they get to the giraffes one has no spots like the rest of them. It was a great learning opportunity to learn about how all people are different as well as animals. But we are all unique and special in our own ways.

I liked this book despite it being a little too singsongy at some points. I liked that it touched on having parents of different races from very different parts of the world. The child says that mixing chocolate and vanilla ice-cream, which his parents order respectively makes a beautiful caramel color like him. It was a cute book. I think it is important for children to read about things like this, because America truly is a melting pot and acceptance of everyone is vital.
