In this book the author sets out to prove the links between the Maya, the Egyptian culture and the secrets of the Knights Templar. His theories aim to connect the Mayan Lord Pacal and the Egyptian boy-king Tutankhamun through decoding artefacts, images, and monuments in terms of numbers and measurements. There are also many other links, too detailed to adequately describe in a review. This is a very simple overview of an incredibly complex theory. The book could have been divided into three extremely interesting examinations of three fascinating periods of history. However, the author has a theory which, unless one accepts the premise, renders the book unbelievable. This theory is: the world was visited by five `super gods' in the forms of Lord Krishna, Tutankhamun, Buddha, Jesus, and Lord Pacal. Unless one accepts the author's theory about these spiritual leaders being linked, and effectively being reincarnations of the one god, then the book does not have much meaning. While I enjoyed the fantastic level of research into the Egyptians, the Mayans, and the Knights Templar I cannot accept the author's theory and I felt that at times the obsession with achieving numerical links (especially the number 144 000) was contrived and even forced at times. However, the degree of research makes the book valuable to interested readers if only for separate investigations into the mysteries and achievements of two magnificent and advanced cultures. I simply cannot accept the quasi-religious angle and this has dimmed my enthusiasm for the contents.… (més)

Not quite smart enough to really benefit by this fine study. But it wasn't a total loss for me. I'm really bad with puzzles and all that sort of thing. John Michell, though he's no longer with us, and the HBHG bunch can get the most out of these exercises.

This is one of those books where the author takes some concepts, takes them out of context and then applies a strange kind of non-earth logic to the whole thing. Entertaining to a degree but it's foundations are quite shaky. I must admit to mental glazing over parts because my brain was refusing to even come close to agreeing with what he was proposing.

I also found it interesting to see the commonalities between the divine and semi-divine heroes in world-myth, though I have a suspicion there are other wirters with more grounding in reality who actually have written better works. It will probably suffer a resurgance due to the approach of 2012 and the end of the Mayan calender, and this is mentioned here.

If you're a Von Dankein fan you'll like this one.
