I knew my story time kids who love [b:Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus|191113|Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!|Mo Willems|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41CXCQ43DBL._SL75_.jpg|884960] would love this and they totally did. They were practically knocking each other over to check it out after story time. One of them even yelled, "I want to check this out!" right in the middle of the story. The ending is a little anti-climactic, but otherwise it works really well.

I actually read this one a little while back at the recommendation of a young patron of my library that said it was really funny and cute. I have to say, I agree with her on those sentiments! It’s a more interactive type picture book where the characters are talking about the reader and it’s a good one to get younger kids’ attention and laughs.

Nothing stings more than reading something you relished in childhood and finding out that it didn't quite hold up. Such is the case with Grampa and Julie, two figures from the good old days of Nick Magazine that I had frankly forgotten until turning up this book in my local library.

The humor? Forced. I don't even see a child finding much amusement in it, honestly. It's random, all right, but not in the way that makes series like Adventure Time fascinating - it just doesn't have enough imagination behind it. It feels very unconnected and underwhelming, overall. Kind of a shame for something with such a fun idea.… (més)

Hip and Hop are a turtle and a rabbit from opposite places. Hip is a slow rapping turtle, and Hop is a speedy fast rapping rabbit. Both want to be the best rapper and win a contest. While they practice, they become friends and show their town how to be friends with someone who is different from you. The second story is about getting a grouchy porcupine to have a good time and not be so uptight. Overall, this was a super cute picture book that will teach children acceptance.
