Hotheaded and temper Lewis meets Victorie under nefarious circumstances brought about by her uncle . The author gives the couple a quarrelsome relationship that works for them because it has more to do with both of them being hot tempered who don't resort to misunderstandings or sulks. A fun and a bit of a madcap romance .
Widowed Regina knows what it is like to be married to a handsome rake, and she has been taxed to keep her young cousin away from Lord Wrexam. With her young cousins left under her guardianship, Regina must guide her cousin through the complexities of the Season and endure the demands of her dead husband's uncle.
This is a fun romance. I can definitely see where the author was inspired by the works of Georgette Heyer. Regina is an intriguing character, a widow who has seen more of the cruel side of men than she'd ever known existed. She still has an innocence about her, though, and she deals with her cousins with more patience than I would have had.
We don't learn that much about Wrexam. He is the classic, tall dark, and handsome hero who steps in to match wits against Regina.
For a clean, old-fashioned Regency Romance, this would be an excellent choice.… (més)

If you are going to set a book in Ireland, please set it in Ireland not the home counties. Try and research journey times, landlord-tenant and English/Irish relations, the recent memory of the 1798 rising : don't curtsy to the goddess Heyer and call it job done. This book is soooo English.
And yes it's a genre romance. But the background world building was terrible and the Big Misunderstanding that drove the plot was one of the worst ever.
