The Christmas Star by Diane Darcy
Wish upon a Christmas star and you wish may come true.
Story starts out with Marilyn and she's at her family farm taking care of the animals when she glances up at the Christmas Star and makes a wish.
Story follows her daughter Elise who has left the farm and headed to Chicago and her boyfriend didn't follow her but she still hopes for a while....
Her business life keeps her busy and she does so well on a project that her boss wants her to attend a seminar and take notes.
It's given by Gabriel and it's about forgiving and all things to do with that. He makes them write a letter to someone that they've been wanting to forgive and she writes to her father.
She goes to look for her letter from the box and it's gone. It arrives at the farm and her father opens it and reads it and calls her telling her he's the one that is story.
Reason why she just left when the parents got into a fight about her and Jason but she is willing to head home for the holidays. She enjoys time with her parents and finds Jason hanging around a lot and they get into conversations about why she left.
They do spend some time with one another doing fun things, dinner, sled rides, etc.
She ends up leaving to go back to work and he follows her and tells her in the middle of a work party that he's not leaving til she agrees to marry him.
Predictable book when you learn about the instructor Gabriel. Lot of people have their hands into the matchmaking.
cute Christmas story.

Liam was so much fun to read. Now, I want to head to Las Vegas. His joy for life was infectious.

To the Authors of this great series. I am begging you to please continue writing as fast as you can. I'm completely greedy and can't get enough of them.

Marilyn Banks wants nothing more than her family to be happy for the holidays. Her daughter, Elise, has moved away from home after her father drove a wedge between her and her boyfriend Jason. Even though Elsie visits her family, things have not been the same. One snowy night Marilyn makes a wish on a star. She asks that her husband, her daughter, and Jason could forgive each other.

When Elsie get an invitation to attend a motivational seminar, she tries to ignore it. When invitation keeps showing up she is a bit perplexed. When her boss announces they need someone to attend this same seminar she thinks someone is playing a joke on her. Eventually she decides that it is inevitable that she will have to go.

The seminar is led by Gabriel Christensen. Although he seems like a nice person there is something about him that makes Elsie think he might be able to see right into her. Through the seminar she learns that she must try to forgive past hurts.

While she is home for the holidays, Elsie finds her old boyfriend and all of her old feelings of hurt and betrayal come forward. Unless Elsie can find it in her heart to forgive Jason she will have to go back to Chicago sad and alone once again. If Jason wants to get Elsie back he has his work cut out for him. Nothing in life is easy but Jason is used to hard work.

This was a great little Holiday Romance. I enjoyed how everyone was determined to make up for a past mistake and put things right again. This story was a joy to read.

Sissy: Sometimes after having a rousing good political discussion with my daughter or trying not to be worried about the state of things on Capital Hill, I just want to read something so happy and non-threatening that I turn to a fluffy bit of literary froth like The Princess Problem by Diane Darcy. This soothes the savage beast and takes me away from the tragic turnings of reality. A delightfully creative reworking of The Princess and The Pea.
Bubby: The cleverness of the writing is really what saves The Princess Problem from being a complete sugar overload. There is just enough snark and sass to balance out the sweetness. See full review at bubblebathbooks.net… (més)
