This book is difficult to read. The characters are so young, naive, selfish, but you continuing reading as you start feeling for the characters. You want a happy ending but you don't know what "happy" is supposed to be for these two. At this point in their lives, they will destroy each other if they continue the path they are on.

I love the authors writing and beautiful words.

So conflicted on how to rate this. Part of me loved seeing the development of the relationship over the years but the other part of me cannot fully comprehend this volatile relationship. 90% of the time, I wanted to smack Bliss for putting up with Thomas' screwed up logic and his constant need to be high all the time. Some of the phrases and terms grated on my nerves. The overuse of "my boy" and "my girl" was highly annoying. Also, what teenagers talk like Bliss and Thomas??? While I appreciate the writing style and the need for their voices to be unique, it was just unrealistic and overboard at times. But I can't help myself from downloading the sequel to see how it ends.… (més)

This book had all the right makings to be an awesome book: A crazy one night stand; a mysterious bad boy; and some danger thrown in for the fun of it. Lots of potential that is just thrown away on an annoying heroine.

Boy, was Alexis whinny. I really couldn't stand her and that just taints my impression of the book overall. I just didn't connect with her and found her to be very immature. Frankly, Brandon deserves better.

I also didn't know that this book had a sequel so I was completely thrown for a loop when it ended on a cliff-hanger. I will read the sequel because I really want to know what the hell is going on; I just don't plan on reading it right away. And depending on how [b:Misplaced Trust|18129341|Misplaced Trust (Misjudged, #2)|Sarah Elizabeth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1380316751s/18129341.jpg|25464171] ends, I will probably grab [b:Misguided Truths|18193635|Misguided Truths Part One (Misjudged, #3)|Sarah Elizabeth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1391629214s/18193635.jpg|25600044] since I do like Brandon's character and want to get his POV on things.

Overall: If you can get past annoying heroines, then this book is worth a read if you grab it for free. It has a lot of potential, but fails to deliver. Hopefully Misplaced Trust takes the series in the direct it needs to go.

Sadly this one was a DNF for me. The male lead was into sex, drugs, and treating the female lead like crud. I thought with time he would come out of the haze, but he didn't. The story eventually felt like a routine... School, weekend, parties, sneaking into beds, repeat.

The writing style was different as well. I really do not like multiple chapters of childhood. I mean a prologue is okay, but a whole chapter about a 13 year old thinking about sex... is just not my cup of tea.

The POV switched between the two characters and I kind of enjoyed getting into Dustys' head. I think if the whole book was told from his POV I may have even loved this story. I just could not connect with Bliss because she heard so many terrible things and still fell all over Dusty. She was weak and very unlikable.

I wish I would have enjoyed this one, but it just wasn't for me. Many love it so I encourage you to read and decide for yourself if this book is for you.
