Judith Fitzgerald was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on November 11, 1952. She received a B.A. and M.A from York University and a Ph.D from the University of Toronto. She was a poet, critic, and journalist. She wrote more than 20 collections of poetry including Victory, Given Names: New and mostra'n més Selected Poems, Diary of Desire, Rapturous Chronicles, and Impeccable Regret. River won the James McMaster Poetry Prize and Adagios Quartet won her a prestigious Chalmers Arts Fellowship. She also wrote two biographies entitled Marshall McLuhan: Wise Guy and Building a Mystery: The Story of Sarah McLachlan and Lilith Fair. She wrote reviews, blogs, columns, criticism, and feature articles on sports, music, and the literary arts. Her journalism appeared in several publications including Books in Canada, The Globe and Mail, the National Post, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Toronto Star. She won the Fiona Mee Award for "outstanding contribution to English-language literary journalism." She died on November 25, 2015 at the age of 63. (Bowker Author Biography) mostra'n menys

Building a Mystery: The Story of Sarah McLachlan &… de Judith Fitzgerald
Hilarious mockumentary. A freelance writer lands a contract to write a book about a pop star, but is unable to get an interview with her or even score a concert ticket. So she writes a book about herself desperately scrounging for material: visiting the reference library, driving past the star's old school, phoning the sister of someone convicted of stalking the star who later killed himself. The resulting mish-mash tells us little or nothing about Sarah McLachlan, but far more than we want to know about the hapless chronicler. Meticulous MLA-style bibliography is a wonderful satiric touch.… (més)
