Two Trends in Modern Quaker Thought: A Statement of… de Albert Fowler
A discussion of universalism and particularism in Quakerism.
Fowler, as a Christian Quaker, sees in Quakerism (ca. 1961) two distinct varieties of belief: universalism and Christian faith in a Quaker interpretation. He is explicitly critical of Quaker universalism (and universalists), even snide and hostile, declaring it a betrayal of Christianity, and also implicitly of Quakerism. This pamphlet reads as unpleasantly partisan and resentful, rather than insightful.
