Shahnareads | Hi ha 5 ressenyes més | Jun 21, 2017 | Love Sucks! picks up where Bite Me! left off, and does it ever kick the story up a notch! AJ is in a much better place as far as her feelings for Ryan goes - though the love will always be there, her heart has come to terms with Ryan being her stepbrother and not her boyfriend anymore. They both have committed to putting family first and protecting everyone including their sibling-to-be from any harm.
I think Ms. Francis hit the ground running with Love Sucks! which is to be expected since the stage has been neatly set already. She throws in a delightful mix of new characters - and I admit that Lex was pretty dreamy snack and totally man enough to heal AJ's broken and lonely heart. I approved wholeheartedly, even though Ryan was pretty upset with this new development and suspected Lex of being evil. With due cause, but is there any hard evidence? You'll have to read and find out! :}
Love Sucks! is perfect if you're looking for a light, fluffy vampire read. It falls along the same fun-loving vein as Kimberly Pauley's Mina Hamilton series that I also enjoyed. The story gets a little dark and edgy to keep the suspense up, but all in all, a delectable treat if you need something to snack on!… (més)

theepicrat | Hi ha 2 ressenyes més | Jan 18, 2011 | The best way I can describe Bite Me! is that it is the love child between FAIRY TALE and I Kissed A Zombie, And I Liked It - snappy-happy with just enough snark and a little bit of sparkly. The sucky part was the disaster between AJ and Ryan which had delicious and heart-wrenching tension that seems to have no hope whatsoever.
Beyond doomed relationship angle, the rest of the story was all right. It mostly stayed afloat with the tongue-in-cheek humor and mystery that surrounded AJ's family history.
Overall Melissa Francis concocted a pretty interesting vampire lore and simply gave us a little nibble with Bite Me! I am definitely salivating for its recently-released sequel Love Sucks!… (més)

After getting rid of her vampire stalker and wacko ex-teacher, AJ's undead life should be all candy and roses, right? Wrong.
With a half-vampire, half-warlock baby on the way for her family (that a lot of people just happen to want dead), a hot ex-boyfriend-turned-stepbrother in the house, and having to learn to block people out of her mind so the bad guys don't pull her through to another place, AJ's got her hands full.
The bad guys (the Serpentine) want AJ to find a set of special runes that quite possibly will help them go back in time and make it so that AJ and her family never existed. Can AJ find the runes and decipher their meaning before it's too late? Can she learn to block out the Serpentine completely, before she becomes a victim of their schemes?
LOVE SUCKS! is a fun, mystery-filled adventure that keeps the reader on their toes. The characters are extremely entertaining and well-developed, even the bad guys. The plot moves fairly fast and is well-done. Readers who like paranormal adventure, romance, and semi-realistic fiction will enjoy reading this book.… (més)

I like the twist on this one and the changes to the history.
I always like when authors do there own things with a classic monster.
