This is a book about a little girl, Cassidy-Li, who is chosen as star of the week in her class. For star of the week, the student makes a poster about themselves and brings in a treat. Cassidy-Li is an adopted child from China. She comes across some trouble when she wants to put a picture of her birth parents on her poster. Cassidy-Li becomes a little sad thinking about her adoption, but with help from her parents, and approval from her classmates, she copes just fine. This is a diverse book for children who may have questions or curiosities about adopted children or may be adopted themselves. The illustrations take up whole pages, which I love. They are very vibrant and colorful, and do a great job at portraying the text.… (més)
