Port Isaac's Fisherman's Friends

The story of how a group of friends from the small fishing village of Port Isaac turned their love of singing sea shanties in the pub once a week, into becoming famous, while still remaining loyal to their lives and loves at home.
The book relates interesting events from their childhoods in Port Isaac to their last 20 years of music making, from a confessed group of pranksters, who were surprised at the popularity of a bunch of old blokes. It also gives an insight into local history and the perils of living and working in a fishing village.
Having visited Port Isaac, and been embraced by its charm, I am sorry that from the other side of the world, it's too far to pop down to the Platt on a Summer's Friday night and hear their music ring out over the village… (més)
