Definitely a different take on the origins of the Easter egg. This one was a little all over the place and, to be honest, my daughter wasn't thrilled with it. It was a little too long winded for the age group it's targeting and the story line was weird to say the least. Not a fan favorite in our house.

Opinion: I am not impressed by "The Princess and The Pea" as a children's storybook. The message that it sends appears hollow at face value, and the underlying message may not be perceivable by most students. The big idea is that you should never judge someone based off how they present themselves, as looks are often deceiving. When the princess shows up at the castle, she is met by the Queen who doubts the validity of the princess' claims that she is royalty. After conducting a test using a pea under her mattress to see if she can notice, and when she passes the test, she is accepted as a Princess and is wed to the prince.… (més)
