I know a shy fellow who swallowed a cello is similar to the book, I know an old lady who swallowed a fly. This version is about a man who swallows a cello but we do not know why and it continues with him swallowing different instruments. It's great to use to show kids that you can use the same verison of the book just change the characters to make it your own.

This poem follows a pattern many children will already be familiar with. I think they would find it very enjoyable, however something about the illustrations of a person swallowing instruments and then belching them back up was a little disturbing to me.

The same story line as I knew an Old Women who Swallowed a Fly. Student could make their own example by like I knew a bad man who swalloed a ham. Then add different types of food.
