Autographed by the author I picked up this volume at a presentation by the principal writer and researcher. The book is well-documented and since he was sued by CAIR clearly all the documentation is authentic. CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) admitted the authenticity of the documentation when they entered into litigation. The group seeks to institute Islamic sharia law in the United States and has influenced an inordinate number of politicians, law enforcement, and well-meaning but gullible citizens.

For six months Gaubatz's cadre of six researchers--Muslims, Jews, and Christians--infiltrated and collected audio, video, and textual documentation. It is a rather astounding feat that the group accomplished.

Gaubatz produces the "smoking gun" (p. 44) linking CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Hamas. The players and the names of the organizations may change but they are cut from the same cloth. Not surprisingly, government agencies began to cut their ties to the mafioso like machinations of the players (p. 46).

Obama has accepted donations from those affiliated with terrorists (p. 390, n. 2); Obama has promoted the goals of terrorists (p. 392, n. 19), and he has supplied a top aide to remain in contact with the organization (pp. 288-89). Although previously there was some progress and the group was more limited in the previous administration but they have returned to have greater influence during the Obama regime (p. 103).

Educators are often unwitting promoters of CAIR aims. Margaret Nydell, of Georgetown University, among others, promotes a sanitized politically correct version of Islam promoted by CAIR (p. 110). Nydell appears in a Homeland Security video extolling the virtues of Islam and downplaying CAIR's shadier activities (p. 378, n. 25). George Mason University is also cited for its political correctness which promotes CAIR aims (p. 133).

Universities and libraries as well have been stocked by Muslim mafioso. Libraries across America have books and pamphlets by questionable types (Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abul_Ala_Maududi).

One of the biggest frauds perpetuated by CAIR is the vastly overblown size of the organization and numbers of Muslims in the U.S. which greatly inflates their influence and buying power. Muslims make up less than 1% of the American population (p. 144) yet Obama and others regularly quote the grossly inflated figure of 7-8 million Muslims in the U.S. Islam is not a demographically significant portion of the American population.

Nonetheless, the organization has snared numerous politicians who have bought the line that CAIR sells. Joe Sestak (D-PA) for example has appointed an aide in his office, Adeeba al-Zaman, for Muslim affairs (p. 181). Sestak watched the television producer of Bridges, a studio specializing in fostering a positive image of Islam, receive an award from CAIR. The producer decapitated his wife in an honor killing. Something might have triggered Sestak in wondering about the background of his political supporters. In addition, al-Zaman's father-in-law is Mohammed Aziz, from the Islamic Society of Greater Valley Forge and the Islamic Circle of North America, since identified as a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood.

The book convincingly documents the shadowy Mafioso nature of underworld Islamic activities in the U.S. The world is particularly difficult to penetrate due to language barriers, concerns for violating privacy, and religious freedom, yet the work must be done. Mainstream Muslim groups, such as Dr. Zuhdi Jasser's American Islamic Forum for Democracy, have done their best to warn Americans about the dangers of Islamism. Gaubatz has done yeoman's work on the front line of Islamic subversion in the U.S. He is to be commended for his work.

There are two minor errors in the text. On p. 107 the wrong syntax appears in one sentence and on p. 284 there is a misspelled word: "blantant" [sic].
