Easy to read, but staying true to the original spirit, this is a charming read that was over far too quickly for me, but I could definitely see how the shorter length is less intimidating for early readers. Highly enjoyable, and with lovely illustrations this series is the perfect way to introduce Anne to the next generation!

This story follows a farm girl that dreams of being a mermaid and uses her imagination to shape the landscape around her into an ocean. Although I was never fascinated with mermaids like other children, I resonated with this book in an unexpected way, as all who let their imagination fly when roaming the outdoors will. It is a lovely book with a relatable storyline of loving where you live but also dreaming of more. That being said, this is a book that is more likely to capture the heart of the adults reading it out loud than the children listening.… (més)
