David Goldblatt was born in Randfontein, South Africa on November 29, 1930. He received a degree in commerce from the University of Witwatersrand. When his father died in 1962, he took over his father's clothing shop. He sold the business in 1963 and used the proceeds to become a full-time mostra'n més photographer. His photographs captured the racial dynamics of South Africa during apartheid and after. His pictures were published in numerous books including On the Mines and The Transported of Kwandebele. He shot mostly in black-and-white for much of his career, but started working in color in the 1990s due to the digital age. His photographs were displayed in numerous gallery shows including a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1998. He died from cancer on June 25, 2018 at the age of 87. Intersections Intersected de David Goldblatt

On the inside of the dusk jacket we read: '"Intersections intersected" for the first time presents in print carefully constructed paintings of images that were taken before and after the the South African watershed.' An interesting combination of historical black and white and more recent colour photographs.
