- Blurb: Rick de Haas (1960) woont in Tilburg. Hij is linkshandig, maar kan toch[???] prima tekenen. Soms maakt hij zijn eigen verhalen, zoals over het jongetje Elmo. Hij tekent ook graag ridders of dieren. En schoolmeesters natuurlijk. Het tekenen van mees Kees vindt Rick vrij gemakkelijk, want die loopt en beweegt net zoals hij dat zelf meestal doet. De hele klas, dat is moeilijker. Dat zijn achttien hoofden, zesendertig armen, zestendertig benen en ga zo maar door. Zie daar maar eens orde in te krijgen.

Leuk verhaaltje dat hartstikke spannend zal zijn voor de kleintjes. Al die insecten die een voor een naar dat licht gaan en niet terugkomen... Uiteindelijk komt alles weer goed! Het is gewoon leuk gedaan met leuke tekeningen.
Peter and the Seal is a book about a boy named Peter and his dog Leo getting lost at sea. Peter promised his grandma that he and Leo will be back from being in the submarine before dinner. Peter and Leo were so intrigued by what they saw in the water, that they were not paying close attention to the direction of the submarine. An unfortunate event happened which made Peter and Leo bump into a sandbank, which means that they will have to wait for the water to rise up in order for the boat to move. Because of this mishap, Peter and Leo are forced to wait till the morning. During their wait Peter and Leo hear a noise from outside the sub; it is a baby seal all alone. Peter feels bad for the seal and invites it in to stay with them the night, so that tomorrow they may all find their families together. When the sun rises Peter, Leo, and the baby seal are able to get back to the dock where Peter's grandmothers house is. When they reach the dock Peter sees his grandmother and the baby seals mother with policeman; once they see Peter everyone is reunited with their families. I feel the story conveys a sense of responsibility on needs to have when doing a task, and how important it is to help others when you see that they need it; just like Peter noticed the baby seal needed help finding its mother. Very cute children's book.… (més)
