I will not give this book the review it deserves, because I can't put into words how much this story touched me. There was no doubt it deserved 5 stars and then some. The cover of this book you will completely understand when you close the pages on this wonderful story.

First off, read the first part of this story by starting with the book, "On 4/19". I don't usually stress this point, but you can't fully enjoy "Beyond 4/20" unless you read book one first (and trust me you will love it just as much). Secondly, read this story with a box of tissues close by, because you are definitely going to need them.

I don't know how, but this author is able to take the seemingly unbelievable situations and make them seem real and believable. In this story you will come across a "well-functioning dysfunctional family". Chelsea and John are now married, totally in love, and totally love helping to raise Lucy (who is Tuck's child, and Tuck is Chelsea's first love). As the story says, "theirs was a divinely arranged family, one destined to have always been, one that was a beautiful example of forgiveness and faith, waiting and patience, giving up and letting go, and especially a picture of God's never-ending love and desire to bless those whom He loves."

I don't want to spoil the story, but tragedy will happen and all will seem lost, but the love Tuck has for Chelsea is something so beautiful and strong that you will see Tuck rewarded for his steadfastness. One of my favorite lines from this book was something Tuck shared with Chelsea as he shared with her John 21:15, "For years I thought I was being disciplined, and in a way I was, but it wasn't as much about being disciplined as it was gaining discipline".

This is a set of books I will long remember and appreciate. Lisa Heaton is a great author and I highly recommend her books, at least the ones I have read so far. As is states at the back of the book about the author, "her sole passion is to lead believers into a closer relationship with Jesus". I feel she is fulfilling that passion.

This is one of the most incredible books I have ever read. It completely changed my life in wonderful ways. It is a Christian based love story that took my heart in so many different directions. It is a story about young love, personal growth, unbelievable betrayal, forgiveness, redemption, and definitely self introspection. This book is truly an inspired gift for those reading its pages. There are not enough stars to do it justice. Make sure you have plenty of uninterrupted time for reading this book. I could barely put it down.… (més)

If you haven't read Lisa Heaton's books then you are missing out on great stories. This is her second book I have read and both have been excellent! I can't say enough about how much I enjoy the way she writes. This story caught my attention right away and it took me places I wasn't even expecting. There was so much in this story I could talk about that touched me as I read it. There was sorrow, heartache and despair, but the joy and peace that comes from a heart that is right with God is something that is so precious words cannot describe how it makes one able to deal with life. Is forgiveness possible when horrible things have happened to someone? Yes, but I believe only through a person who has a right relationship with their God. I want to just say a big "thank you" and "well done" to Lisa Heaton for her gift of storytelling.

Some of my favorite quotes from the book, "chaos and torment are the absence of peace. The absence of peace means you have somehow stepped away from God. And make no mistake, He will never leave you nor forsake you, so absence means you have moved, if you are a believer, that is." Page 59 does a great job of explaining the whole concept of "unmending the veil" and makes total sense in this story. Regarding this veil, "With the wall in place, they mistakenly believe God doesn't see them, or probably more accurately, they are hoping not to see Him. In this way they run from His presence rather than run into it. They live out the Christian experience missing the One they really need, Jesus. It becomes a lifetime filled with ritual and routine, but never a relationship with Him." "Learning the secret of contentment came as a result of unmending the veil. Once every barrier in her heart intended to keep God away was removed, she could see, and know, and be in His presence as He died to achieve." I could go on, but don't want to make this review too long.

What is this story about. It is about a young lady who flees a perfect marriage that gradually turns ugly and dangerous. About a man who comes to the Inn she runs and helps her find the peace she is looking for in her life. About a husband who finds himself in jail, but also finds a Savior, Jesus Christ. About forgiveness, about starting over, about being sensitive to God's leading in their lives. It is a story that will stay with me a quite some time and one I will keep on my shelf to read again. The picture on the cover was great and went so well with this story. Be prepared to shed a few tears as you read this thought provoking and heart stirring story.

This book was a real winner for me!! When I finished, I felt like reading it all over again. If you love a fairy tale romance with a strong christian theme then you will want to read this story. It is the story of an unconventional arrangement that turns into two people finding the love of their life. It is also the story of letting go and letting God do the work and waiting on Him to change a life, even if it means giving up your heart's desire. It brought tears to my eyes at one point in the story, but I finished the book with a sigh of contentment and wanting to read more by this author.

When I got into the story and saw the story-line and the age differences between these two main characters I didn't see how the author could make this work and seem plausible, but she did! I fell in love with Chelsea Whittaker and John Keller and the amazing love that grew as they spent more and more time together. Could a college student, Chelsea, find the unconventional job she had working for a millionaire, John Keller, and experience the travel and lifestyle she did, remain true to her religious beliefs and find happiness with a guy twice her age?? The way this author writes this story makes it seem very possible. I highly recommend this story and I am hoping this author hits a home run on the next book I read of hers, because this one was great!! I might also add that the cover for this book was very good and truly fits in with the story.
