Michael Heiser is a Protestant and betrays his protestant prejudices against the intercessory role of the saints in a passing comment regarding the Most Holy Mother of God. Dr. Heiser also makes the common Western mistake of using the term "Godhead" (which means "Deity" or "Divinity") as a synonym for the term "Trinity." Rather than being another term for the conceptual mystery of the Trinity, the term "Godhead" (i.e., "Godhood") refers rather to Divinity or the Divine Energies by which humanity is glorified in Christ.

Dr. Heiser is certainly not Orthodox in some of his views, but in this presentation he offers a good account of various hints regarding the Mystery of the Holy Trinity given in the Old Testament Scriptures and Second-Temple Jewish thought and made more fully manifest through the revelation of God the Word in the flesh.

To answer, we need to understand the patriarchal household. By taking his father's wife sexually, Ham was seeking to usurp and displace Noah as the patriarchal leader. Was Canaan, Ham's first son, the result of his incestual relationship with his mother (Noah's wife). By cursing Canaan, Noah was make it clear that Canaan would not be allowed to inherit the family leadership position. His birth was illegitimate. He would be instead subservient to his brothers (Genesis 9:24… (més)
