This is a lovely romantic story of two people who come together through tragedy. The characters are beautifully written and well developed. I loved Josian's fiery attitude and Cecily's motherly nature. I love the interaction between all the characters. Tobias is every woman's fantasy and Avery is not far off from that!! This book contains some sexual assault so beware when you read this. The story is great and had many twists that I did not foresee coming to light. The story ended on a climax so watch out everyone!!! I can't wait for the next book in this series. This book is an easy fast paced read.

The story is about Josian who is a seamstress in a small village who takes care of her mother (who is bedredden with malaria), sister, and father. The king frequents the shop of the seamstress since he has become smitten. He then asks for her to be hand-fasted so they can get to know one another. When he gets to the castle, Tobias has an unexpected visit from his estranged uncle Andrew who wanted the crown when his parents pasted. What is Andrew up to? Will he succeed in his plan? I give this 5 stars since I loved everything about this book!!… (més)
