This book is exceptionally high on scholarship even though some of the author's conclusions are debatable respecting the extent to which the United States Constitution and laws are subject to so-called "international law" (much of which is contrary to "the law of nations" referenced at Article I, Section 8, Clause 10 of the U.S. Constitution). But notwithstanding that some of the author's conclusions are debatable, the scholarship is so high as to make this book required reading (and also an essential reference source) for anyone interested in the foreign affairs powers in the U.S. Constitution. The scholarship and legal citations contained in many of the footnotes is so exceptional as to make just the footnotes themselves well-worth the cost of this book.… (més)
